• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

SgtPepperPaul with the 60!!

Paul's in fine form here! Shout out to the entire band, particularly Abe Laboriel Jr. on this one. Next-level skin pounder he is... great fit with this band. It cannot be said enough that Paul has formed and kept a stellar band here, I wish they recorded more as a studio unit, too.

57 Goldtop and a 59 Burst, I don't know if he's got more now ... but he has a pool shaped like one!

He certainly has an impressive collection all-around, many touchstones. And I like his signature SGs, especially with the dog hair finish.

I worked for McCartney earlier in the summer. He left all his guitars outside overnight. There was an armed security company to guard the stage but I can't believe they didn't roll the vault back onto a truck and put them in a bank overnight or something. It was really cool to see his guitars up close.

I could be wrong but I seem to remember Elliot Easton (one of my all time favs!) has/had one of the lefty Bursts. Does anyone know if that's true?

Nah, was just takin' the piss after the Trini Lopez thing. That's no big deal, more common is when someone hears a song covered and assumes it's the original version. The Dave Grohl is a "cover" of the Trini Lopez guitar!

There were three original lefty burts. IIRC, they have upside down screens (when played left hand). I'm sure there are more upside down leftys. All the leftys done with silkscreen--up until about 1973 when they switched to decals which could easily be flipped over for leftys.

Also inconsistent on leftys are the position markers on the binding. Some have both sides, some on the "bottom" side and some have both.
this is really interesting. i know the number is said to be 3 lefty bursts, the other day i was on a random thread and a guy said his pal has a real lefty burst,
they are in one of the snowbound countries. i sent him a message feeling him out i havent heard back. could there be a 4th? if gibson has lost the shipping records from this time could it be possible?
