Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
I purchased a tobaccoburst FB V and Pat Wilkins http://www.wilkinsguitars.com/ refinished the guitar. She arrives this weekend but here are photos that Pat sent to me. The pg and tr cover a bit over the top but I thought it kind of lent an art decco-feel to it. I still have the original white...
I decided to get an ES-135 and settled on this particular model. I knew it was going to get a refin and I've never had a graphic guitar. I wanted a Western x Dios de los Muertos X Robert Rodriguez-Quentin Tarantino-ish theme without looking like a dated 80s shredder axe or appearing too goth.
I...
I love old goldtops.
I received the 71 with P90s last week. I think they are BareKnuckle and the guitar is amazing. Every Norlin Gibson I've had --five total--has been fantastic. Guess I'm lucky.
71, 71 routed for humbuckers, R4 treated by the good folks at RS Guitarworks
....focus in on hard rock and 80s-90s metal: think Steve Stevens, Skid Row, Whitesnake, etc. Probably will replace the pups.
Main tonal difference I think is the maple neck on the 79 Custom which is ebony finish; I don't know if they had pancake bodies then.
Historic 68 Custom ebony is like...
I'm gassing for an LP Custom. I'll try to keep the monkey off my back but in the meantime: I love my R4 Custom black beauty (s/n 4 4089) into a Soldano SLO. I'd like to get a Custom with humbucking tones for even more grunt for hard rock/metal: Steve Stevens, Whitesnake, etc. Any opinions or...
I want to replace it with nickel hardware. It's seem straightforward but I'd rather ask those in the know than make a mistake.
Would this work?

I had tried a few 335 maple and 345 but they didn't sound far enough removed from my Les Pauls for me to reach for my wallet; the walnuts sounded great: a bit mellower or smoother and 'hollower'. I'm gassing for a Sadowsky semihollow but I thought this looked too cool and sounded very nice. s/n...
Quick question I hope.... noob question
A new Les Paul plays great from frets 1 to about 12. After that in the higher registers, the high B & E strings choke on the frets when I bend up a step or more.
I think I should just adjust the thumbwheel on the treble side of the bridge/saddles to...
Custom Shop Gibson Les Paul sparkle orange : yes or no?
I don't have pics. The price is very fair and it's new.
I'm 50-50 on this. I saw it and thought "Wow" but I'm not sure if it's cool and different or just too over the top and 'poser'-ish. I'm usually not like this and know what I want...

I'm puzzled.
Most if not all LPF threads about Les Pauls outfitted with humbuckers and wraptail bridges highly praise these guitars. Some have commented about the unwieldly neck size of Oxbloods but nearly all have applauded the tone of these types of LPs, "the best LP I ever played....it...
I was thinking of getting an R4 and routing it for humbuckers and this popped up:
2003 Brazilian Historic Oxblood R4 --like the guitar Jeff Beck played: like an R4 with humbuckers--for sale for about $2800. It has WCR pups. I can't play or see it; I only have pics. It's on another guitar forum...
