• THIS IS THE 25th ANNIVERSARY YEAR FOR THE LES PAUL FORUM! PLEASE CELEBRATE WITH US AND SUPPORT US WITH A DONATION TO KEEP US GOING! We've made a large financial investment to convert the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and now have to move to a new host. We also have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
  • WE ARE MOVING THE LES PAUL FORUM TO A NEW HOSTING PROVIDER OVER THE NEXT 5-10 DAYS. We will experience downtime during that period. Please be patient and have confidence that we will return! Many thanks, Mike Slubowski, Admin

70s goldtop deluxe
  • minihums gone and routed to currently house 2 Duncan fullsized humbuckers
  • tuners changed to Grovers; drill holes from original tuners visible near replaced tuners
  • refretted
  • pancake? body: you can see the seam where mahogany slabs were used to laminate or sandwhich to make the body
  • cracking and greening...beautifully

Ballpark price? I'm not selling; I saw one and they are asking $4k and would come down to about $3,500 or so. I think that's high. You opinion? Curious.

Thanks.

That's an inflated price for a mutt. I'm no expert, but "vintage" guitars are not moving very quickly now. If I saw it, I'd probably laugh at the seller's nerve, and look for something more in line with reality.

I see modified Deluxes fairly often for $1.5K. It's a damn shame that everybody thinks they can hack a Deluxe when the mini-humbuckers are the best sounding pickups Gibson makes, IMHO + usual disclaimers.

It's an even worse shame when someone hacks a Deluxe and then thinks there are no financial consequences. Until the economy improves, I predict these mutts will disappear. Who's going to buy a hack job for that kind of money, when it may end up being burned in the fireplace for heat?

It depends on the HB's (in they're real vintage PAF's then the pups are worth more the the guitar and the price goes up accordingly).

Duncan pups.

Thanks guys.

I too believe the seller (retail store) is asking too much. I'm not a collector but for a guitar that's been modded like that, I think it's just too high. But I'm not expert so I thought I'd check here.
