• THIS IS THE 25th ANNIVERSARY YEAR FOR THE LES PAUL FORUM! PLEASE CELEBRATE WITH US AND SUPPORT US WITH A DONATION TO KEEP US GOING! We've made a large financial investment to convert the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and now have to move to a new host. We also have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
  • WE ARE MOVING THE LES PAUL FORUM TO A NEW HOSTING PROVIDER OVER THE NEXT 5-10 DAYS. We will experience downtime during that period. Please be patient and have confidence that we will return! Many thanks, Mike Slubowski, Admin

I love old goldtops.

I received the 71 with P90s last week. I think they are BareKnuckle and the guitar is amazing. Every Norlin Gibson I've had --five total--has been fantastic. Guess I'm lucky.

71, 71 routed for humbuckers, R4 treated by the good folks at RS Guitarworks

How do the 71 with P90's and R4 compare ?I have a 71 and wonder if its worth selling to get a Historic. I have some SD P90's that I'm going to fit in my Deluxe.I'm making goof rings at the moment.

The pups are different. R4 has Lollar, RS pots.

To be vague but to the point, they sound different and both are great. The wraptail has a great 'feel' and the guitar is rich in harmonics. But the 71 is fantasttic too.

I would never sell a good old 70s goldtop to get a Historic.

Great looking gold tops ! Congrats ! :salude

P.S. The french expression would be "ménage À trois" instead of menage au trois.
