• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Nah, was just takin' the piss after the Trini Lopez thing. That's no big deal, more common is when someone hears a song covered and assumes it's the original version. The Dave Grohl is a "cover" of the Trini Lopez guitar!

There were three original lefty burts. IIRC, they have upside down screens (when played left hand). I'm sure there are more upside down leftys. All the leftys done with silkscreen--up until about 1973 when they switched to decals which could easily be flipped over for leftys.

Also inconsistent on leftys are the position markers on the binding. Some have both sides, some on the "bottom" side and some have both.

Thanks Wilco, for sharing that on the silkscreen Les Paul logo flip and history . That was going to be my question of the day .

Here's why it would be hard to flip the silkscreen version:

Tom, McCartney has used a newer Les Paul custom made for him by Gibson with a special finish that was painted by an artist who first painted the design on a 10 foot Les Paul statue at Gibsons GuitarTown in London. Link HERE its not vintage to qualify for this forum, he has tried and own many *Pauls ( psyche) and this one sounds great >
