• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I think I found Beano

No hard feelings on my end :salude

I'm not here to attack anyone, as I have (tried to anyway) stated all along.

It is clear, however, that a number of people do not like my pressure testing of Mr. Hickey's recollection.

More details please of the Marc Bolan connection.

That would be the 'Ride A White Swan' guitar. I still bear the mental scars of attending T Rex gigs for the benefit of my girlfriend of the time. Not a hip band for a 16 year old guy trying to be cool.

There isn't one. I was joking. I said there were matching features between Beano and Bolan's Les Paul to show how ridiculous this whole thing is. Did anyone noticed that Bolan's guitar is missing a fret inlay?

So what's the Keith Richards Burst have to do with Beano? I am going to make a BIG assumption and say that if someone thought that Beano had a Bigsby because of this shot.. Well then, I think you need to do some research.
This guitar that Eric is pictured with here, was borrowed from The Rolling Stones because Beano had already been nicked(stolen) and Eric had to borrow a guitar for this show and a couple of others. Not too long after this though, Eric bought the "Fresh Cream" Burst from Andy Summers.
The "Fresh Cream" Burst is alive and living in Los Angeles and is owned by a friend of mine.

No it's one that he picked up in the late '80s.......he'd been LPless for quite a long time prior to that.

The "Fresh Cream" LP was the one EC bought from Andy Summers. That guitar had it's peghead broken a couple of times. It's been fixed decades ago..

Roger that. A friend of mine just played that one, and said it killed. He took a pic, but of course I can't post it!

USA Grovers would most definitely leave a mark on the back. Washers or not, the 3 tabs on the back dig into the headstock.]

The owner of the guitar, and the guitar tech for an artist who has more real bursts than any other touring musician I know have said, unequivocally, that the guitar did not have, nor did it ever have, Grovers.
Is that not enough?:hmm

No Grovers? Game over.

True. If you remove the Klusons, and it's never been bored out, that rules it out.

For at least 25 years there are (at least one that I know for sure) guys who could easily make evidence of Grovers "disappear". That would be child's play for at least one that no one will talk about here...or anywhere else... and I also know for a fact a lot of bursts have gone in and out of his hands. I'm not saying that is the case here but for all those who've seen what an incredibly gifted artist, that works under hi-power microscopes, with fine camel hair brushes to tediously duplicate every nuance of the most detailed wood grain, a master woodworking craftsman of the highest order, and can formulate lacquer that will pass black light test perfectly, and will spend months, many times years meticulously working on a project (charging thousands of dollars just to make one spot, screw hole, scratch, Grovers, etc. "go away"), can do so that a typically hi-dollar but with issues guitar is now worth really high dollars with "no issues"... The fact that one cannot find evidence there were ever Grovers on a specific guitar, doesn't mean there never were. Again, that is child's play to make disappear for some. Not trying to be cynical but it seems a bit naïve to make these statements based on what the eye can see... and that makes it a fact. It's just not so...... seen it too many times.

There are fantastic craftsmen, in many different fields, who can do amazing work....nothing would surprise me. :salude

To my knowledge there aren't hardly any pics of that one.
I've got one only with EC sitting holding Brownie and it's in the close background on a stand with a number of his other guitars prior to one of the Antigua auctions........even front on it has a really curly/wavy top and vibrant cherry sunburst finish.
