Missing from that um, "story", is the actual threat to seize guitars. More Republican fear mongering. What a load of shit.

And we should believe this guy why?

Because he's a well-respected journalist...
Didn't you read this?:

"A new entry in my regular series Musings After Midnight is posted at my blog, The Liberty Sphere.
It's titled "France, the U.S., and the Definition of Insanity."
Don't miss it!

Visit my ministry site at Martin Christian Ministries."

His other incredibly astute articles--previous to this one--include (and I'm not kidding):

"Armed environmental police shut down ice cream stand"

"Spike in black on white crime covered up by media"

"Growing jihadist presence in Mexico causes alarm"

:wah

"Armed environmental police shut down ice cream stand"

This really happened recently. Carlisle MA is about 20 minutes from me. I caught the end of the story on Dan Rea's talk radio show the other night. He had both the owner and the official who ordered the shut down. For 25+ years this business owner has operated a local dairy farm on a long term lease of gov't land. The ice cream stand was closed for not having permits for building improvements. Something that should be resolved in a few days is taking much longer because of red tape. Massachusetts is one of the top 5 states that produce red tape, in case you're not aware..

And we should believe this guy why?

I'll believe it when I see a video of Sheryl Crow running across the stage with her Gibson acoustic while being pursued by Federal agents yelling "give it up!".

That's a pretty dramatic headline for what I see in the article, which is that a couple of Tennessee politicians are working to clarify the rules so we can see how the game will be played.

This story, if true, makes me believe that Henry must have made an unsuccessful pass on Michelle at some point in time............

correct me if im wrong, but didnt one of our own forum members have his guitar seized on its trip from canada to HM down in fl? the next step from that would be taking them from musicians hands. i dont see how this is perceived as so "far fetched".

I'm glad you guys spotted this propaganda for what it is. The original "story" linked to is indeed without credibility. The second story is uses as its resource is hooey as well. Here's a key quote from that second story. The important phrase here is the feds already said they had no intention of seizing instruments in the first place:

“Senator Wyden and I are going to write the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service a letter in the next couple of weeks and try to make it clear that wood harvested before 2008 to make musical instruments can’t be seized by the federal government,” Alexander said in a statement. “The Justice Department and Fish and Wildlife have said they have no intention of doing that, but Sen. Wyden and I are going to make it absolutely clear. We hope to get a clear ruling within a few weeks, and if we can’t get a clear ruling, we’ll introduce legislation to change the Lacey Act.”

It's amazing to me what passes as "news" these days, when it is indeed fear mongering. And it's incredible to me that so many otherwise sensible people (at least I hope they are) go out of their way to spread the fear mongering on the Internet on sites that have nothing to do with politics in the first place.

At some point, you should realize that when you spread blatant untruths, all it does is make everyone else tune ya out and vote against the politicians you embrace. And if you really truly care about Democracy, fear mongering is the worst possible way to uphold it.
