#111 came in today. Every bit the peach as my 130 HB. I'll really get to sit down with it tonight but here are a couple of pics.

hi guys,
Larry has been quite busy over x-mas,
and he was also very patient with me--#54 is complete and at the mercy of UPS, pix and clips are up there now, got a long way to get here--I'll let you all know when she arrives, and of course I'll be showing her off.
cheers all

I just acquired LCPG-127 from Larry and I'm liking it very much. Quite a difference between the '07 Standard faded with his mods and my '02 Classic with WCR's.

What can I say other than it's the best LP I have played in years. Lovin' the fat Gibson tones I am getting with it plugged into my Metropoulos '68 plexi clone and Metro JTM45's.

If anyone is serious about picking up a new Standard (or any Gibson) do yourself a favour and check out C*V Guitars. Larry is a wonderful guy to do business with. The man's got a great pair of ears and he has many happy customers worldwide including your's truly.

Thanks Larry!

After getting some decent amps over the past couple of years I can with certainty say that I made an excellent acquisition with your PG modded Standard Faded. From the out-of-phase tone to the hardware and the service, I will be buying again from you and C*V guitars.

It's a great looking top for sure. The guitar looks stunning close up and I'm soooo lovin' the color. But honestly these Pauls sound so wonderful plugged into a decent plexi that I really believe I've found my tone benchmark and no longer have to wonder if it can get any better.

BTW, these guitars come with BB Pro's and I am very impressed with the way they sound in this guitar. Full and warm, fat and even, with great sustain and a sweet, sweet presence in the top end.

I own a set of humbuckers from Jim Wagner so I know good PAF tones. Some may not like the BB Pro's but they do sound perfect in this guitar.

Now...if only I had one of those Fulltone TTE units I could finally say I have THE rig!

I'm really loving mine now too.

I made a couple of tweaks to suit me ... first of all I didn't get on with the PG out of phase thing ... it was fun for a while but doesn't suit my style so it is now back "in phase".

The guitar itself has the same attack and bloom and overall tonality I remember of my '56 conversion of years ago. The neck sound is to me as good as I have heard; it is just beautiful. I wasn't crazy about the sound of the bridge pickup; I found it a little bright and harsh so after a pickup swap it is now back to the original pickup with a different magnet; the original A5 magnet was really hot so I put in another A5 that was somewhat weaker and the guitar is perfect now ... the bridge sound has a nice bite sort of like the Page sound or Danny Kirwan ... nice sizzle but not harsh or too bright.

I want to thank Larry for turning me on to these diamonds in the rough!

Turk did you do the magnet flip yourself? I still on the fence with the out of phase sound. I hear it on records, but when I'm playing I find I just am not as into the middle position as the other two.

I love Johnny A's tone. Since this is what's in your avatar, I'm betting our tastes are similar.

I actually used a different magnet and inserted it at the same polarity as the neck pickup.

You guys convinced me to pull the trigger. I spent an hour today at Guitar Gallery checking out a new R8, but I wasn't all that impressed. I listened to some of Larry's sound clips and picked out an axe....#135 will be mine.

Cant talk-------must play-----
#54 arrived today, the best birthday present ever-
-exactly what I hoped for--exactly as described-
-perfect,
Larry is a genius, I already told him.
As others have said--If its what you want--go for it, you wont be dissapointed--I guarantee it.
I'll try and get some pics up soon--when I can find the time, be patient-I got a lot of playing to do-
-inspiration doesnt come easy-but when it does--it takes over.
cheers guys

Andy K that's really a beautiful guitar man. I'm still loving mine. I'm partial to the tobacco bursts.

Your guitar has a particularly sexy grain pattern which looks to me like a volcano is erupting from the bottom of the guitar. That's one of the best looking Faded's I've seen and I'm glad an LP Forum member snagged it so we can see future pics.

Rock on.:wail

That's pretty cool Dock. I bet you're right when you say Larry is keeping it. That's a LOT of flame. I wonder why Gibson didn't make that a higher dollar guitar?

Honestly, I like all of them.

Ok--
its been a good week for me here--took a week off,
picked up my new LCPGLP#54-on my birthday--delivered to work.
I had enough time to get aquainted, and took a few pics--
first impressions-
-
figure-1.jpg

-
-its difficult to get a good picture--these things move with the light--so heres an interesting one--
comparison with the pic thats kept me going through xmas--
tvcomp.jpg

but I think this was the best I could
manage-
-
daylight.jpg

I'm not a photographer
-by any means-and its not a great camera
, I seem to take millions of pics which dont capture what I am seeing-but it was difficult enough to put this thing down long enough to take any pics at all-
-theres so many things that are just so right with Larrys work,
I called him a genius, and he passed the credit to gibson for creating the platform--
but what he does-is take something that shouldnt work,
-a brand new hollow production model, and create something that sounds as good as anything that has been heard since the old days.
I havent had chance to A-B #54 against any of my other LPs-but enough to say, my previous no1 as an Edwards JP replica-with supercircuit-so many many tones, but- solid, light and worn-just felt right, compared to my 03 standard,
which feels good---heavy and pretty immaculate(scared to ding it )
I have a few flamey LPs, and a few good plain studios,-so I felt ready to take a gamble on something different-
You cant see the flame on a record :)
and this thing feels so right--and its good to get back to a useful set of controls--
if you got a nice re-issue, or got lucky -do the mods and play on, but if you want a new guitar-
-the best service ever--
a great choice ,
and guaranteed satisfaction,
you dont need to go any further than Larry-
-he is the best at what he does, and a true gentleman,-
-he even mailed me back to say happy birthday-
-thats all.
I could go on---but I got to get these new strings played in---
cheers guys

About how long does it take to get one in your hands after you put one on hold? Just curious.

It only took Larry a day or so at most to perform the necessary work, and no more that a couple of days from putting a hold on the guitar to getting it on a delivery truck.

What are you waiting for? I can't wait to get home to mine after work each day and it's been a few weeks now since I've taken ownership of it. This guitar just KILLS me with it's sound...and I love love love the neck and the way Larry sets these up.

Christ, I can't wait to get another one from Larry before too many find out about it.
