• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Good stuff, interesting that 3 years later the guitars are still the same as a whole...but the amps have continued to evolve for Joe.... says a lot if you think about it...

Joe plays Ernie Ball 11s on Les Pauls. At the shows I've attended with a guest burst, Mike Hickey (Joe's tech) restrings the guitar. If the tailpiece is pristine (i.e. no signs of ever being top wrapped), then it gets strung the conventional way to keep the tailpiece unmarred. If it has evidence of having been top wrapped, then it gets top wrapped for the show unless the owner objects. I haven't seen Mike adjust the intonation.

I am relieved to hear this!

Being new to this forum, I am just seeing the photos for the first time.

My pal, who I've known since I was growing up is pictured with Joe in one of the first pictures - Larry Mitchell.

Larry is an amazing guitarist!
