• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Which do you think are the most important tonal qualities of a good Les Paul?

You can Google Clapton 010. It's documented on The Music Zoo's site. Even stating that it was Steve Miller's personal guitar, he's Les Paul's Godson if you didn't know. Also happens to be a celebrity. šŸ˜‚ You guy's just don't quit and now I'm beginning to like you.
So youā€™re saying that Music Zoo sold a Burst as a reissue? One of the might be a beano. I donā€™t think either is a real burst and I doubt you are willing to take the pictures necessary to decide

Hey man, if you can't figure it out - I don't care anymore. I have them in real life. Go play yours, too.

a guy who used to post on here a lot came up with the Inverse post number/thread length theorem of authenticity which I think is true. When someone posts a picture or claim in the guitar forum, the more discussion there is, the less likely the story/guitar is authentic. When a real one is posted (see my post from before) you get likes and a few ā€œgreat pictureā€, ā€œnice topā€, ā€œ thanks for postingā€ responses. When it is not authentic the thread grows and the ousts mount up as claims and pictures only raise increasing questions and objections. I can only think of 2 times (other long term members can correct me if there are more) where this ended up not holding. Both instances where because the person posting didnā€™t know what pictures to post and once they were all objections were quickly dropped.

Both of those guitars look like reissues at best to meā€¦but they are low res 10 ft away pictures so I will give the benefit of the doubt. If you posted control and switch cavity pictures, better pictures of the top, headstock (front and rear) and better picture of the back, then a definitive conclusion could be reached. Maybe you really think you have one and could be wrong. Maybe you donā€™t want to really know.

Exactly why I shouldn't have posted to begin with.

Edit: Heres the Googleable Music Zoo Link to Clapton 010 - it actually has a real PAF in the neck position, too. Forgot to mention Steve added that. A nice bright and strong one!

The burst has no online provenance and is thusly fake from here on out. Certainly my post count has cost me all credibility. It's a Fake everybody! The jig is up! Nothing more to see here. Move along.

It could be real. You canā€™t telll it from the one picture provided. You canā€™t expect to make a claim like that and people not want to see evidence. Do you not internet at all?

It's my understanding it's a Chinese knock off. Could be 80's maybe 90's? I'd have to differ to an expert with a larger post count. I do apologize for my lack of interneting ability.

I'm pretty sure the Clapton is also of the Orient. I think The Music Zoo may have mislabeled a couple of Steve Miller's guitars during that sale. There are changed parts and everything... Where was the experience and expertise of these keyboard heros when I needed them - guess I'll know who to ask in the future.

Ram your 20 thousand plus posts up your self righteous ass.

What's your problem "Wilko"? None of my guitars are for sale and I'm not asking you to verify any of them.

Get fucked, loser.ā€

May this be a lesson to all viewing this thread. Don't give in to these keyboard warriors with 20k+ posts of hot air and bullshit. They can't be satisfied no matter what.

All the while people wonder why things are they way they are nowadays.

The Beano was built in 2010. Read published books and get off the internet.

So much bullshit about the internet and all that complaining because you lied and said you had a burst, knowing full well that didnā€™t. Made up bullshit stories.

We know the lesson here.

Correct. I have a Chinese knock-off.
So are you mad that we knew you were full of it? Another example that proves the theorem. We arenā€™t malicious but we have seen this enough to recognize it. Do you troll other sites or just this one?

Click the Google link for Beano and compare it yourself to the picture I took. Use what's left of your brain to compare yourself.

As for the other guitar in the picture; it's a fake counterfeit as verified by "Jimmi and Wilko on the internet" šŸ˜šŸ˜‚
