• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Which do you think are the most important tonal qualities of a good Les Paul?

ADP has a 1959 Les Paul Standard that he bought for historic money.

(hint, It's a Beano)

I was estimating and giving you credit for ripping off the guy for a few thousand less than average price for a 2003 historic.

anyway, it doesn’t matter, there is no guitar.
You're a textbook case of an ignorant fool. Plus he offered it to me, naming his price. Any way the joke is on you.

Aged Beano came from Steve Miller brokered through the Music Zoo. I have both.

bullshit.

If you had a real 'burst, you have shown it off, and maybe (just maybe) you'd be helpful with answers to questions. Ya know, the kind of questions you ask all the time that if you had a real burst, you'd already know the answers to.

You haven't posted about it, or even hinted until this thread.

So… Those tonal qualities:

I really favor clear, understated tones from a Les Paul. To me, this means a neck pup that gets a lot of steel in the note on wound strings (no mud) and a bridge pup that is very heavy on the mids (no shrill brightness). The pups need to be balanced at normal heights, producing a crisp, bright tone across all strings in the both position.

This guitar does that for me: A 2021 R8 WW Spec LP. I find the guitar totally inspiring, no faults of any kind, great controllable tone in all positions, all frets. I love playing it but you might not, and as much as I love it’s voice, no, it does not sound like a great ‘Burst (I’ve had 6 or 7 in hand with lots of play time and I couldn’t begin to say how many Reissues). ‘Bursts and vintage Goldtops have their niche and it’s immediately recognizable with an example in your hands [in my opinion].

Been around these guitars since I was 15 and actually own vintage guitars. Played a bunch more including some very famous ones.

Waiting for a picture of your aged Brno next to a real burst.

Guess I proved my point as to how fucking annoying people on the internet are. Oh well... There it is for you to dissect and further look like an ignorant asshole. 😂

😂 Yeah, that's it! I'm sorry I don't cater to the Les Paul Forum for all of my gear. Fuck you is how I feel about it. Like I said it was offered to me and the price was named by the seller. He loved the deal just as much as I did. Congratulations on getting me to waste my time taking a picture outside for you. I do give you credit for that. By the way all the parts are fake - even the Mono Plak. Also the neck angle is set flatter.

You can Google Clapton 010. It's documented on The Music Zoo's site. Even stating that it was Steve Miller's personal guitar, he's Les Paul's Godson if you didn't know. Also happens to be a celebrity. 😂 You guy's just don't quit and now I'm beginning to like you.

Sorry did one of us come to your house and insist you post on a public forum? You choose to share. You made a claim that seems dubious to many and yet are surprised when we express doubt. How are we the jerks here?

I guess the people I hang out with in real life have a ton of these stories and I don't find it to be as dubious of a claim as you seem to. I digress - May this off the rails thread one day find it's way back on course....
