Which amp tone to match your Fender?

My favorite for a Tele is a Twin or Super Reverb CLEAN with a Wampler Ego Compressor (for some comp only if needed), Nobels ODR-1 overdrive (for the drive), and a BOSS DM-2 (slap).

My favorite for a Strat is the same amps (Twin or Super Reverb CLEAN) with a Tubescreamer type of OD (my fav right now is the Ibanez Mostortion), and a BOSS DM-2 and a TC Flashback.

But always clean Blackface amps with me with pedals for drive no matter if Strat, Tele, P90, Mini Humbucker, Humbucker, whathaveyou.

I have the entire line of "traditional" Fender amps. . . and for me, the top of the heap is the '65 Super Reverb.

It seems to have the sound that is imbedded in my subconscious and never disappoints!

Of course, all of this is simply personal taste - like ice cream flavors (which is best?)

'59 Bassman seems to be the one I use the most. "Furious" is the best I can describe the experience. Love my other amps with a tele as well but the Bassman does it all.

yeti - Bassman :XRE yes that is great Fender tone IMO
I love hearing a semi or hollow body Gibson being played tastefully through a Bassman classic tone :salude

dragonfire - have you a Bandmaster 3 speaker tweed combo? like the one the CS just reissued?

progrocker111 - loud enough??? :laugh2: a friend of mine has a early '70s Custom 100 H & C, it is epic!!! pots are stuffed & scratchy but DAM! that thing is loud and clear! I see why DG, Townsend & Fripp liked them :salude

All Fender... either TRRI or Tweed Champ depending on the volume and nastiness required... both work with either Teles or Strats. :salude

My favorite is a Jazzmaster into an old Super Lead. Impractical and unrealistic for any band or project I've been a part of over the past 15 years, but still my favorite.

In the real world a Princeton Reverb or Tweed Deluxe with the band and a Vibro Champ around the house. A Vibrolux is still the favorite Fender, but most of the time I don't need the extra horsepower.

I'm all about the Jazzmaster or Tele, no Strat.

AC15 with a Greenback rounds off and warms up my tele just right for the $ but a vintage fender tweed would more than match it.

I have a couple of Fender amps and a Marshall, but my Stratocaster shines the clearest and brightest with a bone-stock Vox AC15C1 combo. It's one of my reference tones...

I use an electronically stock '72 Bandmaster TFL 5005 that has been converted to a combo, just a tad wider than a Deluxe Reverb:

I always receive compliments about the tone.

Really, there's nothing better for a Fender than another fender. This is a 1969 DR that sounds fantastic.
