Currently there are two different manufacturers for the waffleback tuners.
Has anyone ever been able to compare them?
I'm especially wondering about the weight.

1️⃣ Kluson waffleback by WD Music (15:1 ratio, fix button) :

2️⃣ Kluson waffleback by Göldo (18:1 ratio , screwed button, nylon worm bearings) :

Look at the shaft the key is on.
They look quite different, if that makes a difference to you.

I have WD Klusons on a 56 Custom and like them. No experience (or awareness) of the others.

Interesting how the screws at both sites are NOT what you would use for those tuners? I'd be pissed if that's what came with them (it was not what came with my 2017 set).

Yes the shaft and screwed on key looks pretty odd on the Göldo version ...

I recently bought a set from Stewmac (therfore the WD version) and the screws was the right ones with conical head. I guess there are only a pic issue on the websites.
They are very good tuners and very good looking on my Custom 72 - 54 reissue (therefore the gold ones with metal keystone button).

I mostly wonder if the Göldo could be lighter in weight. On the northwestguitars.co.uk they are described as "Very lightweight. Ideal for those looking for a less heavy headstock" (?)
