Yeah. Dumbles were built by one guy, the examples you gave weren’t. Gibson, Fenders, Marshall’s were assembly line built. Not the same thing. Not arguing the legality of as much as the morality of it. Sounds like a cash grab.
"Morality"?

Are the new Dumbles (if there are any) going to be built by one guy?

Why is anything someone doesn't like a cash grab?

It doesn't matter how good they are now, how true to design, blah blah blah, it will now be a post Dumble built Dumble vs. a Dumble.

I bought several Matchless. EXACT same design and materials, sound etc. as they always were.

But some peeps alway throws in "It's not a Sampson Era".

Awesome amps. Fantastic designs. Just gots some stigma attached....

My Ken Fisher designed Komet 19. Same same.

Just enjoy the sound of the new ones, get it sooner, pay cash when you get it instead of tying it up for years and pay less.

Win win.

They seem to build everything again, which makes life dull, mainly because what they build usually isn't what it used to be.

I would like to see someone doing something really different vs the same old same old.

I'm sure they will be expensive and sell well.

I heard some scuttlebutt about building Dumbles occasionally to make the trademark more enforceable?

I've known Drew Berlin for well over 30 years! If Drew says they're going to build something, then they will! Drew is a great person in my book!

wheres the "cash grab"

we have no idea what the pricing is, if these new post AHD amps are priced in the same ball park as the upper tier clones being built today but carry the name Dumble, its just someone else entering the amp market. If a bludo-drive is 5500, Amp nation wonderland OD is 4000, and the dumble is 6000 where the big CASH GRAB going on ?

these new amps wont effect the value of AHD built originals and it will offer another option in the high end amp space that has some great healthy competition already.

that said if a new "dumble" is 20000 yeah its a cash grab unless they are offering some secret sauce no one else can lay claim to and they can prove it. I think Drew Berlin (never met the guy) seems like a passionate and decent dude in all the interviews i have read or seen, i doubt he has bad intentions on his mind when it comes to the legacy of AHD and the DUMBLE brand

Taking the legacy, and promoting it along with the possession of original schematics and design information (potential secret sauce no one else has) is different than making a "Dumblesque" amp to sell.

Given this, they won't be less expensive than those you mentioned and they won't be the same price. Why should they?

The opportunity to leap-frog to the top of the Dumblesque amp market is the "cash grab". This is only happening because the others mfgers exist in this market space as there is demand. This new entity is trying to leap frog them in the market place using the legacy.

It's a cash grab.

I don't see in what way making "Dumblesque" from original schematics and design information is not also a way to promote AHD's legacy.

These are assumptions you make to valid your "cash grab" statement. So far, none of these have been corroborated by actual facts.

I have a hard time understanding how pursuing the production of amplifiers based on the real AHD documentation is more a leap-frog and a cash grab than building ones copied or inspired by the originals, without paying rights to AHD by the way.

I guess ill just agree to disagree here, If they were selling amps for a few hundred bucks and building them over seas or charging 200K for copies of old ones id really 100% agree with you but it seems this is being done with intent and care for AHDs legacy and that of his awesome creations. if you see it as a "cash grab" I dont know how to change ur mind, are new R9s cash grabs cuz gibsons ownership has changed hands since the 50s ?
