THIS IS THE 25th ANNIVERSARY YEAR FOR THE LES PAUL FORUM! PLEASE CELEBRATE WITH US AND SUPPORT US WITH A DONATION TO KEEP US GOING!
We've made a large financial investment to convert the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and now have to move to a new host. We also have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
WE ARE MOVING THE LES PAUL FORUM TO A NEW HOSTING PROVIDER OVER THE NEXT 5-10 DAYS. We will experience downtime during that period. Please be patient and have confidence that we will return! Many thanks, Mike Slubowski, Admin
The people here can certainly help you. Most books on Gibson guitars have serial # lists--try Gruhn's little manual. Also the Gibson web site probably has some info.
. . . is a must-have for all of us. You can identify any guitar with it. Truly a great work. I use it all the time. It will help you date by pot-codes, serial numbers, volutes or the lack-of, finish, hardware, etc.
Buy it today! (Borders? or I know Stew-Mac has it).
Gibson serial numbers are very confusing and you should read the text regarding serial numbers before you "look it up" on a list.
"Gruhn' Guide to Vintage Guitars, 2nd Edition" is an invaluable book, but please read it carefully. I find many people misread serial numbers by going straight to the lists.
There are many here at the forum willing and ready to help.
