Does anyone have a good lead on a supply source for rectangular guitar cases for a Les Paul?

Also I’ve heard that a PRS multi-fit guitar case will work well for a Les Paul. Does anyone know if that’s the case?

You might want to try the PRS singlecut case. The singlecut is a bit different and I haven't tried it myself but I think it's the closest you'll get for a reasonable price.
I seem to remember a lawsuit in '03 were either Gibson or PRS argued that a Les Paul would or wouldn't fit in a PRS case, I have no idea what the conclusion was, unfortunately.. Let us know if you find out!
In my years working in guitar stores I've seen a few 70's les pauls come in with rectangular cases (aftermarket) but none of those offered any protection against the headstock breaking, even with the lower headstock angle and volute.
I usually just put my'55 in my gigbag and take extra good care, but I do have an anvil roadcase just in case ( ? ).

I use the Anvil steel cases and for the money they are the best protection . As the Anvil steel will crush anything in it's path .

Reverb has several Gibson Aluminum cases listed.........

This is the case that my '69 Deluxe has spent it's life in. I've always been concerned about headstock damage.

Oh crap, I forgot about the recent Gibson HP cases, they're pretty solid and they definitely fit a Les Paul!

Eventually I found a TKL made Gibson Custom rectangular guitar case. I’m still interested in another one and maybe I should figure out if a Les Paul fits in a PRS multi-fit guitar case.

I’ll suggest GatorCase or ^^SKB.^^
Have the Gator Titan and a SKB 3i that gets used for travel, hurricane storage. For daily moving, I go incognito with Gator ATA. Nice snug well padded fit inside all of them. Plenty clearance at headstock and machine heads.

With any Les Paul in a case, the headstock will snap if he case falls forward. To help reduce the chance, there should be padding in the case lid that will absorb the forward motion if the case does fall forward. You don't want this to be snug.

odd that I would find this thread and have this item saved in my watchlist on ebay....
I didn't know that Gibson made rectangular cases either USA standard or Custom shop ones.... I did know about the metal ones from around 2015 or so though. but not tolex covered ones. I hope this helps.

I have learned from TKL that they disco’d the rectangular Les Paul cases some number of years ago. Too bad as they are great cases.
