There are many people who feel that it would be a sacrilege to strip the paint off a vintage goldtop to see what kind of top is hidden underneath, to see if it would make a nice conversion. And many who might feel that it should be restored to its original gold glory. I just wanted to make it clear that I bought it already stripped and refinished, love it as-is, and have no immediate plans to touch it (except to play it, that is).
