• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

It's kind of cool in a "Ya don't see many of these" sort of a way, but the only thoughts that come to mind are: (1) exactly who would buy one; and (2) it's definitely not "$6K-plus" cool. That kind of bread can buy a LOT of orders of chicken fried rice.

It's an Art guitar. Nicely done in the classic Chinese style. Looks fine to me as I get it, even though not in my wheelhouse. I think Vivian's is beautifully done. I'd rock one.

I have no problem with that red guitar. Why even care.

(Oops, seems I cared enough to post.)

I don't see anything wrong with that. It's obviously aimed at the Chinese market and I'm sure they will all sell.

Or those that appreciate Chinese culture. I have a freind that collects Chinese art and antiques. Red lacquer fine wood furniture with intricate pearl inlay, Jade, Ivory and wood carvings. I scored a huge carved fire opal rose from him as a gift for the wife. I don't think you need to be in China or even Chinese to appreciate this guitar.

If the dog was inlaid into the wood that would be artistic,.....but a nailed on hunk of gold plated brass is rather "tacky".....pun intended.

it kind of begs this question -

other than reproducing their designs from 45-70 years ago - and making them more accurate to the original because of being lambasted on internet forums- what wonderful product designs has Gibson - and the new guard come up with ????

get a historical book on Gibson guitars - notice the wonderful designs they had 50 years ago - there were no wonky tacky poorly conceived designs back then - the pieces had proper proportion , color harmony, tactfully done embellishments.

look in this book and the designs from back then - compare to their concepts today - a picture is worth one million words
