NOGD: Hello Sparky!

Here you go...

What started life as a pre-Fender 1996 Duojet in jet black, ended up as a great showcase project for my local luthier, Luca. He's an Italian currently based in Singapore. A cool guy and always passionate about his work!!!

The beginning... Only mod done was to replace the rusty bridge with a compton bridge.

The stripping begins! Poly finish is nasty to remove. Can't believe he did it all by hand!

Sparkle on!!! Heard from him, he's still trying to clean off the remaining sparkle in his workshop cum office.

Always thought the "stinger" series Les Paul way cool... So I requested for my own version.

I thought the black looked pretty dang good.

Nice! Man, I want a sparkle finish guitar so bad. A friend's gold flake Strat got me hooked. Something so trashy/Vegas/folk art about it.

Nothing against the black!! I love a black beauty but it was an opportunity to strip the poly finish on the MIJ Gretsch to a nice nitro finish. Pink Sparkle is something that came up along with the way during my discussion with Luca. He was excited to take up the challenge!

not that it matters, but gretsch sparkle tops are not painted. they are semi-hollow and simply covered with gretsch drum sparkle coverings.
