• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

nice group there Tim :salude

Thanks all good in their own way. But I love my epi jb black beauty as much or more than all of those I just mentioned. Man it is an incredible looking and sounding guitar. Even the 3 corner mitered 5 layer binding is some of the best trim work I have ever seen on an ax. I may have gotten lucky I don't know my first epi.

I got an email from Epiphone about these and fell in love with it. I went to Sweetwater read up on all the specs and after talking to my rep, he said they just got some in, so I ordered one. I just love the way they look and I always wanted a 3 pickup custom. It came before X-Mas and I have had a lot of time playing it for the last month or so. The setup was just ok when it arrived, so I changed out the strings, oiled the fretboard which is ebony and totally sweet. I got some nice tulip style gold locking tuners and adjusted the setup to my liking with 9-46 strings. This guitar feels/plays and sounds amazing. I did a comparison to my Gibson Les Paul Custom with 490R/498T pickups and it sounds almost identical. They both feel about the same having a 50's Medium C neck I recon.

I have a 2003 r9 braz, 2004 r0 cherry, 2004 tonequest 54 gold top, 2007 r9 darkback tobacco, i believe a 2004 custom shop Korina single cut special 1 p90, 2006 59 es335 custom shop natural finish, 82 Korina modern, 81 gibson usg1,2007 r9 lemon top, gibson true vintage banner j45. The 2004 tonequest is the best sounding guitar i have. It is a great guitar and I will keep it for as long as I can. It has nothing on the bonamassa black beauty. In fact they sound a lot alike. The neck is way bigger on the tonequest, that is a true baseball bat. Also that Korina special is a good guitar also. I've have a lawsuit tokai lespaul reborn that also stands strong. I also have a greco lespaul custom black beauty bass from early 80s that is an outstanding guitar as well.
Singlecut Special 1 p90??? Or singlecut Jr?? Special would have bound fingerboard and pearl logo as well as the Les Paul Special silkscreen.

I love my Epi JB-355, so if the quality is similar, this seems like a no-brainer. Sure looks great with that aged binding.
My only very minor complain...I'd actually prefer it didn't have the middle pickup. 😁
