Where can you get one for less? Are you talking used?
Personally I don't care whose name it's attached to if it plays and sounds as good as it looks.
Gary- I'll say this is the best les paul I've ever had, and I've had some pretty good ones, a few top of the line boutique ones..... I had a Gil Yaron that he made for Charles Daughtry that was pretty incredible - and 3 others, I"ve had two of the duane hotlantas, a real 58 tv yellow, a couple of the murphy labs, an old 2003 honeyburst. I've had three collectors choices -- one 15, one nicky and one 45 (danger burst). Unless a thing I've invented hits it big it stops here. This is the look and feel and sound that I've been searching for for 20 years. I didn't pay 22, but it wasnt a whole lot less than that.

For me, again, the looks and history of this particular guitar were part of why I wanted it, but I'll say the neck, weight, and sound is so fucking amazing.... I am so happy with it.

Awesome, I've been lucky enough to own almost all of the original humbucker LPs when they were somewhat affordable (which means I'm old 😭) but this one was my fave, it sounded great and after a refret by Dan Erlewine it played great too. This is a photo of a photo but you get the idea, opening for the late, great Jeff Healey circa 1989IMG_0130.JPG

Pretty sure they’ll make another one even better since you’ve probably said that about every one you’ve bought in the list above…

That is the reason I finally just said to myself that the Murphy R9 that i now have is close enough(read as "good enough") to a old original and to stop thinking I would get a better one for myself.
Got tired of the constant hunt and decided to just play and enjoy what I have now.,

It’s always the best until the next latest and greatest comes out lol

Then you hear, “I finally found my gold grail!” For the 1000th time only to say it on your next purchase…🤣

This is the truth - how many times on this Forum have I heard THE BEST by these Flipperphiles every time they purchase - trade - sell then the best is gone in a year or less . Every guitar I own - is 8 to 20 years in my possession all Historic . These all have qualities of their own - the Best does not exist in my guitar room - those who claim the best will not proclaim such thoughts in a year this best statement goes to the red in my BS meter . By the way I just bought last week a 2003 Gold Top R7 not the best but good !

Disclaimer : I will post pictures of this OK R7 this weekend .

any instrument is only as “good” as the person playing it.
