• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I was playing my trusty 59 Jr. this morning when I noticed one of the dots on the fretboard was missing.
When did that happen?! Today ? The last time I played it?
Spent some serious time going over every square inch of the music room floor
which has a carpet with a very busy pattern.
Like looking for a contact lens, but I found it. Glued it back in.
That was a close one!

Happy New Year!

Good fortune retrobob. I took the back panel off of a Fender reverb unit. When it was time to reinstall one of the cup washers disappeared. I cleaned the whole house looking for it and it never showed....a two day affair. Ended up buying a dozen cup washers for $15.

Keeping your jr original is much more serious. Good for you and the jr. :salude

Yeah, I'm really getting into playing the Jr, and I'm noticing, wow,
that one marker doesn't have much reflection to it.
I take a closer look and its totally gone! Hope none of the other ones fall out.

Most replacements look nothing like those 50s dots & inlays.
Glad I found it!

Glad you found it. I've had a few vintage Juniors where those inlays pop out like that. :)

I have scavaged a few extra dots from old Harmony fret boards. They are the same size & look, although, they may vary in "yellowness". I hooked Mapleflame up with a few for his Jr. & they worked pretty good, I guess.
Glad you found the original! :applaude
