• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I don't get the criticism of the 03 braz guitars. I have 6 r9s from different years. My 03 has the best overall tone of the bunch. Big bottom end that is clean even overdriver hard. Sweet smooth midrange that has just the right amount of bite for great crunch, a really smooth not harsh top end that even makes the bb1&2s sound good. My best guitar and most beautiful with a really dark brown almost black board with no grain. I love it and willl never sell it.

why not?

yours is just one guitar and it's a great one.

my R6 was one of the '03 Brazilians that didn't have it.

Maybe I could've made it better with a bunch of changes, but I wasn't willing to do that.

I'm not criticizing them all... just the only one I've ever owned.

I have a friend who has a beautiful darkburst '03 R9 that he loves. I've played it, but not enough to really have an opinion...other than how great it looks.
