1970 Marshall Model 1986 Bass

Picked up this 50 watt ‘70 Marshall Bass head this weekend and a nice used 1936V cab.

The amp is in very good condition and appears original to my limited knowledge. Hopefully it will be going to my amp tech soon.

I have quite a few good speakers stashed away to try in the cab.

I’ll be using an attenuator and sometimes an OD pedal to help control the volume.

It still sounds good at lower volumes with an OD to push it.

That’s how I did it. Reduce the level with a pedal.

The amp is back from my tech and sounds excellent. He gave it a good check up and installed new JJ preamp tubes.

It even sounds good with the stock speakers in the 2017 Marshall 1936V cab that I purchased with the amp.

I do want to try the amp with another cab that I own with two ‘77 Blackback speakers inside.

Beautiful! I don't see the point of a high price for a small amplifier. The big amps are where it's at!
