• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Fort Wayne, Indiana. This was before they had the fancy suits and longhorns and rattlesnakes onstage, but holy crap did they kick ass. I was already a bigtime Les Paul fanatic, so it was worth getting there early for the spot right in front of the stage where I could get a good look at Pearly and the boys.

Oh buddy!! dang is right! great first post. Bring on more! Lucky man to be at this show and so close to the tone!

Look at those amp settings, no treble or mids, a pinch of presence and bass almost on ten.

Can't wait to try those settings. Maybe I'll wait until the neighborhood wakes up.

same thing here... can't wait to try it !
But I wouldn't be surprise if those pointed chicken knobs were not secured pointing at "O"...:hmm
Billy could have set let say, dialed the treble at 5, then ajusting the knob at zero; so zero was in fact at five.
That would be "grand" Billy's style...

But I'll try it 4sure with those settings :hank

Many thanks WP Blues for those great pictures

So those Rio Grandes are customized marshall SL's? Thought they might be with the size and control panel.

I tried this "RioGrande" settings : I don't think that it's Billy's Marshall; maybe that one is one of Dusty's Marshall on Billy's side !
It would be cool to see the settings of the Marshall at the right of this one on the pix.

anyway, here are some short mp3s of my Pearly directly into my '67 Marshall 100W (nothing in between...) with a 4X12" basketweave Marshall cabinet.

same settings as on the pix #2 : http://dicitte.com/images/RioGrande_settings_delayed.mp3 it does sound too "bassy" (personnal...)

my personnal "ZZ zone" settings : http://dicitte.com/images/ZZzone_settings_delayed.mp3
closer to Billy's Marshall tone and more woody (love that setting)
Presence at 2
Bass at 1
Middle at 10
Treble at 9
Volume I at 8+
Volume II at 2 (no jumping; acting as ghost tone !)

Gaston :salude

Jan 30th edit : speed up the tempo and delayed Left side just a little and only kept the "Waitin for..." part !
