I hate Norlin guitars. I wouldn't use one for a jackstand.
yeah very cool pic of 73; seems to be an outdoor show, which i think was very rare
maybe it was their show in cadillac michigan in support of the local football team but i think that was 75
so what was that outdoor show in 73?
Ah, the '73 costume. Not a whole lotta pics from that year. Very cool! :yah
Not Norlins, both of Tom Scholz' goldtops are 68's
How do you know they are not early 69's?
What if it were? Are you claiming that a guitar built before any of the Norlin specs and changes, a guitar built to exact CMI specs, by the same CMI employees on the same machines with the same materials, are? REALLY, that's yer big point?
BIG Al come on give me a break ! I mean we're talking about a span of maybe one year or so between Gibson and Norlin specs. Same people and materials out on the floor. Frankly I don't give a shit. I don't get off splitting hairs. It's a cool guitar regardless of whether it was shipped in 68 or 69.
Go here for definitive information....

The Les Paul guitars must have been fairly "iconic" in the 1970's. Gibson shipped over 35000 Les Paul Deluxes' in the 1970's. Over 52,000 Customs' were shipped during the same period.
I'll put my 1970 Deluxe up against anything built today.
Whoa, Marshall1987 don't take offence, none intended, OK? I'd have used an appropiate smiley but I post from my Playstation and can't always get the full functions.
Still that posted question is splitting hairs.
I have a much loved early 70's Goldtop like yours, but not near as pretty. I had to put P90's in mine, but the minies were spectactular, MO. Greatly, greatly underrated. When Ricky, Gretch, Kay, ect.. pu are getting a buzz, SUPERIOUR Mini hums are ignored. What a shame, no need to preach to you I see.
