• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Whats the best riff and/or solo ever played on a Les Paul

I was wondering what everybodies thought was on this subject.
Last night, i was listening to Guns and Roses on my ipod and nightrain
came on.. Man, Slashes solo in this song in friggin awesome. One of my favorites. I started thinking what other great solo's have been played or recorded on a Les Paul...

Any thoughts?.....

yes, yes it was...

My vote is "All Right Now". Obvoius choice, but the riff and solo combo is stellar.

What about Layla? Duane made up what has to be the best known riff and played his parts on a Les Paul and Eric played his parts on a Strat. Would that count?

Favorite solo on a Paul is anything Page does live, 'Since I've Been Loving You' is probably my favorite.

Paradise City may be my favorite riff...

Allman Brothers - Fillmore Album - One Way Out - extensive solos by Duane and Dickie

Some of the best playing and tone known to mankind.

I'd have to say that Sweet Child O' Mine ranks high on my list. But also Page on...what's that song....darn can't remember...well better just make it everything he ever played. Page is so cool.
