• THIS IS THE 25th ANNIVERSARY YEAR FOR THE LES PAUL FORUM! PLEASE CELEBRATE WITH US AND SUPPORT US WITH A DONATION TO KEEP US GOING! We've made a large financial investment to convert the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and now have to move to a new host. We also have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
  • WE ARE MOVING THE LES PAUL FORUM TO A NEW HOSTING PROVIDER OVER THE NEXT 5-10 DAYS. We will experience downtime during that period. Please be patient and have confidence that we will return! Many thanks, Mike Slubowski, Admin

Man. That's so good looking. Perfect, really.

What a killer Makeover! Nobody does it better than Kim...I'm sure your Historic will feel, sound and play better than ever; mine certainly does, and a few more are going Kim's way as we speak!

How do they buff it out? My 2001 HM, came with dry spots, and orange peel. I guess they did that in an attempt to make it looked aged. I've been using Novas #3 to remove the dry spots; but it is a long process. As a note it was purchased in 2008. Maybe 2007.

Hi Steve,
Your guitar was buffed out 7 years ago when we were having Dave Johnson performing the work on the finish.
If you wish to send the guitar to Florida. I will pay for the shipping and completely buff out the guitar and return at my cost.
Thank you.

A mahogany neck with flame!? If I hadn't seen that pic I wouldn't have believed it. I guess there really is a god.

The flame is pretty neat, huh? I've seen it on others, but not often.

Thanks for the kind words, guys. I'm looking forward to getting it home.

I got a few more pics this week. It looks like the distressing is pretty much done; I asked Kim for light, but realistic distressing. I've done some heavier distressing, myself, but I didn't want to go that far with this one (I may start a Backstage thread about a "madeover" Orville by Gibson that I did).

Anyway, it looks like it should be about ready to be setup and shipped back home. Here are some pics:
