Hello , I am not so relevant about Gibson . I have a premium plus with I feel sounds awesome but it’s time to pull the trigger on a LPC 1975 . The only thing that bothers me is that I found one that the previous user has repainted the guitar . Luthier used nitro paint and the guitar seems to be very beautiful without optical problems . But I wanted your opinion . Does this guitar looses value because of this refinishing ? And how much ? This guitar is a 1975 model . Sounds good . The only considerations I am having is if I wanna sell it once , if the community will not want a refinished custom .

Thank you

Is it a different color than the original? If so? Yes. Devalue.

Yes the refin could shaft its resale value. But if it sounds good and you like it is that really an issue? Without pictures it's difficult to pass comment on the state/value of the thing TBF, if that actually matters.

I like it... And yonally is perfect. But someday maybe I need to resale it. So it matters a bit. Thank you though

It’s all in the price he’s asking ..low enough $$$$ you could play it for free when/if you were to resell it…how great of a refin is it ..particularly along the binding edges

Refin knocks 30-40% of value. Blue blue book and other sources might confirm that

How much should you value a refin black custom 1975 ( not norlin era ) according to your experience ?

???

May you tell me your opinion about how much is a good price to buy it ?
He's not going to tell you his opinion. If you want to know approximately how much value the guitar may lose, you need to quit playing games and tell us the asking price and provide some photos so we can see what it actually looks like and how good the refin is.

I do not own the guitar so I cannot provide photos. 3000 euros.

$3240 at current exchange rates.

The Norlin Era was approximately 1969 to 1986 so this guitar is definitely a Norlin guitar.

Ask the seller to provide photos to you. If the seller refuses, walk away.

Why was the guitar refinished?

Were repairs made to the guitar which required refinishing? If so, what were they?

Are all parts of the guitar original or have parts been replaced? If parts have been replaced, why were they replaced?

Have you actually seen and played the guitar?

At the very least these questions need to be answered in order to estimate an appropriate selling price. If the seller refuses, walk away.

Owwww I thought norlin era was until 1975 . Norlin means better era or worse ? I mean surely the answer will be like "every era has pros and cons " but generally norlin has better resale or worse than guitars from let's say 1990 in the same condition?

The seller is a friend of mine but he has a limited knowledge as well cause he bought it from internet . But I know for sure that the pickups has been changed to fishman active pups to be more metal. And the guitar has not been broken or something. It has been refinished just to look more fresh and new. I am not expecting to give me a 100% accurate price cause I know this is difficult for everyone. Just a from - to estimation according to my description is ok... The refinished is good with nitro.
