• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
  • WE ARE MOVING THE LES PAUL FORUM TO A NEW HOSTING PROVIDER OVER THE NEXT 5-10 DAYS. We will experience downtime during that period. Please be patient and have confidence that we will return! Many thanks, Mike Slubowski, Admin

I've got one of the "aged" (not signed) reserved at CME, who has not received their first delivery as of now.

This is "the one" for me. I would have gone for the signed/aged/TH version, but someone had nabbed it when I made my inquiry about six weeks ago.

Hopefully today's the day!

I understand why you do that, and so do I in a way, he is one of the strat masters. About the time he released the album Golden Heart in 96 he used the 58 LP a LOT though (which was around the time he had bought it, NOT back in the Live Aid days as so many of the dealers are claiming when they sell these sig LP's).

You're totally right. I think that is because Gibson have a similar explanation on their website :-( Of course, they claim that it was his '58 back in the 80s and that is not true. Throaty tones (You and your friend in 1991) came from his 1984 reissue, that he was using back then.

I propose to be more precise here as I understand that there is a VOS MK #, an Aged KNOPFLER #, and an Aged & Signed #. Cheers.

yes, I will probably keep my site to the Aged and Signed - with a few examples of the others where they have exceptional tops -

plug'd it in today with a modest amp and it plays really well. Set up seems perfect

Here is MK 100. It arrived last night and wow. I am so impressed. Will go great with its brother, Warren Haynes Les Paul.

yeah man, looks killler nice top on that!!!!

Absolutely perfect. I had my choice between 3, and this one was definitely the ONE. I'm not a huge fan of the monster flame, but my Haynes is a plaintop, so I wanted some figure. I am very happy with the top and color on this one.

Very nice looking guitar! Is that one an aged or a VOS?

My aged (unsigned) model arrived early this morning.

Looks great, sounds fine, but...I regret not pony-ing for the TH signed version.

To be fair, I also have a TH R9 which happens to have the most comfortable neck I've ever held.

My original plan was to sell the TH and just go with the Aged MK for my LP. Can't do that.

Absolutely unsure whether I'm actually going to keep it at this point. The top is majestic on every MK I've seen thus far.
