I got both good news & bad news. First the bad new is the Ventilator is discontinued. The good news is Neo is coming out with the Mini Vent. Smaller, easier to power, and suppose to be a bit easier on the wallet.

Looking like $350...

Sh*t, I hate when that happens, well, I've seen a few used ones out there, maybe the Mini will be cool though.

Turns out the regular Ventilator is not discontinued permanently. Its being revamped with added features and released at a later date. I'm happy with the original pedal. I was enticed by the smaller size of this budget model Mini. But I like the flexibility I have now with the original.

I got one last week. It nails the tight gain of a 70's Superlead and then some, as it has more gain than any stock Marshall I've had . I'm still not sure about it. That sound just may not be my thing anymore. But in side by side comparison, I find the Zvex Box of Rock to be more organic. But to be fair, its going for a different era Marshall sound. Its built like a mini tank. Top quality and for some a dream pedal come true.

Never been a big distortion fan but that SL demo sounded great. What's the difference between it and the box of rock?

The SL is brighter and tighter with less low end more resembling a 70's Superlead than that of a looser 60's plexi sound. I like the sag of the earlier Marshalls so I ended up sticking with the BOR and selling the SL.
