Thanks for all your replies guys. Actually, I'm not even looking at the prices. I used to work at that store when I was in college. The owner and I go way back; actually to a band we used to play in together. I know he'll do the "Lowe's" discount. He'll beat the lowest price I can find by 10%.

The one I was leaning towards the most is the one Dave P. likes. I like the gentleness of the grain.

I think 81605 is closer to the real deal but I also like 81589 for the wider flame. I agree with Dave P - whoa!! bit steep in the $$$
but that's list...

I gotta go with 81602 or 81579 for the lighter color and the wide, loose, not really there flame. 81589 was my ace in the hole for a redder burst, but everyone else seems to like it too. In general, I don't like the tight pinstripe flame on any guitar.

Ken that guitar was originally at Daves guitars for $4500 now look what it's going for. I don't care for the quilt ones.

I know, why is that price so much lower than the rest of the R9's?

Maybe I'll call'em up and ask.

I really like the butterscotch better that the cherry.

Thats a Y2K R9, it shouldn't sell for any more than 4k. I have 9 0908, man it looks very similar, and I paid $3250 new.

1) #81589
2) If that one's gone, #81579

I like the wide, ripply kind of flame.

Hope that $4,500 is just a list price...

RICH yours is real nice. But what hit about the one at the galleria was the darker richer color. Flames are just about the same. Makes me want to trade in my plaintop. :fatty

81589 for sure. The rest are dull to me compared to it.
