Where have all the Nick Lucas' gone?

I recall back in the late 90s the Nick Lucas model was in the regular acoustic line, and was readily available for around the $1800-2200 range with great looking maple back and sides.

Now I've got a craving for a used one from that era, and I can't find one for sale anywhere new or used! As a matter of fact it's ten times easier to find an original than these decade old (non-accurate) re-issues!

What gives? Did everyone get the same GAS for one of these at the same time!

Prices for vintage Nicks have come down, especially for the earlier "small body" models ... so why not go there?

Yeah, for a longtime these were getting no love. I have owned one for over 10 years ( a 1999 reissue ) and always enjoy playing it. I have been surprised at how low prices were for quite sometime. Now vintage NL's are thru the roof so the reissues are getting bought up.
