As pointed out above he referring to his Martin acoustic, and that happens all the time on old Martins and Gibson.

Once again he was talking about his acoustic, in 1967 Martin changed from T-Bar Truss rods to hollow square rods.

Some newbie comes on and shuts off about finding their granddads 59 burst under the bed that he used to use in his church band blah blah blah.

They all follow a similar format. They post photos of other guitars and say 'oh it’s like this one' but never the actual guitar. They all have some excuse why they can't do that.

What always surprises me is that there are loads of people on here who want to believe the storey and start making excuses for them and can't actually see that its a fantasist that they defending .

I mean for fecks sake, if you need advice and guidance then there is no better place than this forum. The are more bursts known about on here than anywhere else. So if they want advice, then post the photos and the serial number and lets help them.

He is talking about the Martin D-35 in post two, not the Les Paul.

he says that the guitar sat wrapped in plastic for 55 years
plastic bags were first invented in 1965 and I am pretty sure that they would have fallen apart in an hot attic by now - Maryland is hot as heck in the summertime - the bags would have out gassed - basically decomposed to broken little pieces by now.

i really want to believe this guy. like the guy i gave 3k to go get an original stradavarious. (i actually did, he was real convincing) i never saw him again.
ironically my late 60 burst was bought new in 1964, it was covered in thick dust. i dont know where it was hanging in the store (the original owner is still alive i should call and ask him) but it still has all of its red.
since i lost 3k on a strad, i,l bet ten bucks this guy has a burst. (although the serial number statement isnt helping his claim)

But if you really did pay 3k thinking that you were going to get a stradavaious, and you really do think that this guy has got a 59 burst, then you are a scammers dream.
If you really do feel that he has a 59 burst then why don't you offer him 3k for it and I bet he will accept it. But you won't get a guitar that's for sure.

you do know that if your 1960 burst is a late 1960 it has the changed red dye that doesn’t fade like the 1958 - early/mid 1960’s.
