other aspects...

Not exactly sisters but here are my two seventies strats, after years of searching through this time period, these two have made the cut.

The top one is a 74 hardtail that used to belong to Mark Bishop, he used it during his gigging days with his band Ring of Fire. The bottom one is a well used 79, that has been put through the bar band days of yesteryear, and has been one of my favorites of all time.

There are great guitars to be found in CBS-years too, it just takes a while to find them ...
the two i posted are insanely light weight, especially the hardtail.

is your -74 light too ?

I suck at describing sound-difference and such, but here it goes...

They are quite different both in sond and feel, the HT is direct and snappy with a lot of growl
the -74 has a little fatter neck and more of a spongy feel.
I've set up the trem to be semi-floating, aka not screwed to the bottom.
There are simularitys too of course.
I like the pickups from this era (some don,t) but the shielding is not great so they are a bit noisy with
a lot of gain...but its only rock n roll ;)

My 73 Strat is the lightest guitar I own. Love it!

Awesome !!!:dude:

I love the "well worn" look, (and feel)...-73' seems like a good year for strats ;)

i have a -74 Tele that weighs like both strats together, so not all were lightweight sadly
