• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Are Gibson custom shop still using the method of gluing the fretboard to the neck before gluing the neck to the body? Are the studs still made of cheap zink alloy?

Yes to the neck question, it can be seen in one of the new "The Process" clips by Gibson on YouTube. The video says "Gibson USA", but we know the Custom Shop is now in the same facilities.

I don't know about the studs.

That is unbelievable!! Always surprised me why big companies never learn or listen!! Reading about the Gibson Custom shop and the problems they have is like reading about the Fender CBS.
