thanks Guys !

I really love these guitars.
Sometimes, my 58 looks like a plaintop ! ...fun !
I thought selling one but both sound so different but so good... so i had no choice, keep both of them.
Now with my vintage red Fender Strat (i like strats and Nocaster's very much also...), i am really happy with the tone range.

hey toni, on you and Gastons modded antiquities, do you have the covers on or off ? And if you have tried it both ways, what, if any subtle differences have you noticed ? Thanks !

Nicholas,

Gaston's Antiquities have covers, mines have covers also, and i've never tried them without covers because i'm completely satisfied with the tone.
But many guys say that it is slightly brighter without the covers.

Freddy,
I have the Strat now. But will have the Nocaster probably in April.
Do you know what is the difference between a Telecaster and a Nocaster ? I clearly prefer the Nocaster but i don't know about the technical differences...

Technically the difference between a Nocaster (~'51) and a Telecaster (~'52) is a pair of scissors taken to the decal. The Nocaster was just what a Broadcaster became before Fender got Telecaster decals.

I know there was some messing with the necks and truss rods in the early days, but I'm pretty sure the truss rod was in before the Broadcaster went away. And there was always some variation to the pickups due to the hand winding (Seymour Duncan did an interesting comparison of 4 '53 Tele pickups in the new Vintage Guitar showing that no two '53's are really alike). But all in all they should be about the same from 51 to 52. The Teles kept evolving from there with necks getting slimmer, etc., so it depends what Tele you're comparing the Nocaster to.
