• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Time to build another JTM-45.

I sold my last tube amp last summer to help fund my home purchase.

Ive been rocking the Boss Katana since.

Due to availability of parts and the reacquisition of my former 4x12
I can build this for a couple hundred bucks plus a head cab.

I already have an output transformer -Metro Amp Drake clone and my good
buddy Mars Hall has donated a power transformer and a pair of KT66's
I still have a bunch of resistors and caps and a choke.

This will be a 1965 era JTM-45 clone.

Sound like the makings of a great amp !

That was my 1st build back in the end of 2004, it sounded excellent!!

The output transformer is the same from that 1st build.

Cant wait to get started, chassis and panels have been ordered.

Will you be posting pics of the build here as you go? I've built a few amps and have an Avatar JTM45 based amp and would love to follow your build.

The aliens seem to have returned my friend to me. BTW, the donor PT is a drake and was pulled from a 1996 Bluesbreaker amp.

Actually the pink wire is not in that pic.

Here it is with my progress so far.

I should be able to order the rest of the parts in 2 weeks.

The pink wire was ordered from a special stash that George Metropolis
of Metro Amps got from Radio Spares from England, 10 years ago
and I still have about 6 feet, should be enough for this amp.
