• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

2001 (or '02, it's got a four digit s/n) bought used last year and my '98 purchased new
DiMarzio 36th Anniversary's in both - I like them and didn't want to break the bank.

I really need to take some better photos.

The one on the right....2001 Butterscotch flametop with great flame and grain.

Looks incredible, BUT it was a tone turd so it was sold for top dollar. :laugh2:

2001 R8 plaintop. Lovingly known as "The Freak" for its amazing tone...

I have a 2001 Honeyburst flamer R8. I'll post pics when I get a chance. Thick neck, but not as thick as my 2005 R7.

New to the forum. Just picked up this 2001 R8 a couple of weeks ago. This is a n older thread but it seemed like an appropriate place to post a quick pic and say hello. After many years of playing guitar this is my first Les Paul, this one just "spoke" to me.

I had a 2001 briefly. It was just too clean and nice. Huge fat neck. Tight flame that was maybe too straight for me.
