• THIS IS THE 25th ANNIVERSARY YEAR FOR THE LES PAUL FORUM! PLEASE CELEBRATE WITH US AND SUPPORT US WITH A DONATION TO KEEP US GOING! We've made a large financial investment to convert the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and now have to move to a new host. We also have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
  • WE ARE MOVING THE LES PAUL FORUM TO A NEW HOSTING PROVIDER OVER THE NEXT 5-10 DAYS. We will experience downtime during that period. Please be patient and have confidence that we will return! Many thanks, Mike Slubowski, Admin

2001 R8- the only Historic LP that I've kept, the best of all of them.

Early patent number pickups with RS aged covers.
Old .022 BumbleBee caps well within spec.
RS pots, RS aged aluminum tailpiece with RS aged TonePros locking studs.
'50s wiring too.
Fat neck, just under 9 lbs.

Hey Mark,

That looks like my guitar :jim

I'll have to post some pics of it in it's current configuration. Now it's got a set of Buzzy's inlays, a bone nut, and Double Cream Crossroads pickups. It's wired 50's style with CTS pots and black beauty caps. There's an aged Gotoh lightweight tailpiece on it. Right now it has the stock plastic on it....

Great Guitar!!

Here's a nice one I saw this morning. It's got a Jimmy Page wiring.

Actually, rafke, if it's a CR, then I believe it has to be an '04 or later. Plus, those inlays look like the '03 and up inlays.

Here she is. 2001 Custom Authentic R8. Amazing how the flash picks up the figure, in normal light it doesn't stand out as much and has a pretty light color. When I get around to it I'll take some outdoor and other lighting pics. Sounds like butter!
