I finally managed to watch it this evening after I finished work.
I loved the Alnico Custom...i think it was a '55?
Excellent viewing and Mike is a living legend!![]()
Outstanding "Collection" video ....Mike is a class act and a living rock legend. Mike has amassed a very cool guitar collection over the years. However, his vintage Les Paul goldtop doesn't appear to be a 1968 model Les Paul goldtop which featured an ABR-1 tune-o-matic bridge. It actually appears to be a 1972 Les Paul gold top model with the wrap-over bridge/tailpiece.
So where did you acquire this knowledge of what Mike cares about? Are you his friend? That's a very nice collection of great guitars!
Clearly Mike is a player first and collector second. I don't think he cares what year a guitar is but what songs it has in it.
Have you watched the video? So where did you acquire this knowledge of what Mike cares about? Are you his friend?
In the Collection video, Mike appears to be very knowledgable about vintage guitars.... and with one or two exceptions, the specific model years of the guitars in his collection. As "King Loudness" states in post #9 above "he probably assumed the '68 model year because the SN starts with 68."
