Hello! I have a traditional in heritage cherry burst from -13 in great condition. Plays great but a bit fat neck for me. Though im not super fond over the color, getting clownvibes..!

Now I got the opportunity to swap it for a trad pro ii in tobacco, a stunning top imo! havent really heard much about the model before but after som reading it seems a bit ‘gimmicky’? What are your thoughts about it? About the same resale value? Would you do the trade?

I don’t get any clown vibes from your guitar. But I moved my 2013 Trad along due to the very fat neck as well.

What are the Trad Pro gimmicks?

I have a 09 Trad Pro ….. it is an excellent guitar. It has , what I would describe a 60s neck . Definitely on the slim side. As far as
“gimmicks” the Trad Pro has a coil split function which expands the tonal options. I don’t find that “function “ useful as I prefer a LP to sound like a LP as opposed to a Strat. So I can see where that could be considered a gimmick by a LP fan. Again it is a solid guitar.

My avatar is a 2012 Traditional. The neck is a very '59 feeling neck. Nice and round, not too thin. One of the best hunks of wood I've played. As good or better than all the Historics I've owned.

Of course, I've modified the top carve, rebursted and swapped out the plastic and put DMC covers on it.
