Dude needs to learn the pentatonic scale. Wrong notes everywhere in that solo. "Right, it's in E, dude. At least Johnny was f%#ked up when he couldn't play it."

Does David J. look like a weird Mick Jagger separated-at-birth thing or is it just me?

I dug it.

Wrong notes? You can't hold me back with your 'rules'. Rock 'n roll!

I'm digging it too. I didn't see anything that wrong with it. The Doll's were always about raw and savvy. Seemed to fit their style. Johansen's vocal lacked a bit of the original energy but he's gotten older. If he screamed like he used to when he sang that number he might not be able to take the mic for 3 weeks.

Just an opinion, but I happen to think that Johnny played equally well whether he was f*cked up or sober, which (given the percentage of time he seemed to be f*cked up) is kind of remarkable, if you think about it. Now, his singing while f*cked up—that's a whole other story.

Good point, David Jo and Johnny did have somewhat of an odd (if not obvious) Mick/Keith thing going on. Though with more hairspray.

I'm not referring to the solos. I was watching a couple newer Dolls dvd's a couple months back and Conte botched the main riffs on many of the classic tunes. Not like he was making mistakes, but more like he really just didn't know the music all that well.
There are some forum guys that could have stepped up to the plate and played more accurately.

They were great live when I saw them and The Stooges a couple of years ago. The CD is pretty good too!

The irony is that S. Conte's background is jazz...Yeah, I could hear the similarity between Johnny Thunders and Tal Farlow...

Who is Steve Conte? Is he one of the Conte ?brothers/cousins? that played in "Company of Wolves"? C.O.W., still one of my favorite bands.

The new Dolls album flat out f*cking rocks: "Running Around" is one of the best Rolling Stones songs I've heard in years. And does anyone else hear weird echos of The Who in some of the tunes?

Yeah, Johansen's voice is shattered, but it works. If anything, Conte is too good of a player...but he has all the Berryisms down pat, and makes a gloriously raunchy noise when he needs to. Good sh*t.

Nice to see Conte got a few props here, he flat out ripped it up when I saw him at South Street Seaport this summer.

And yes indeed that would be a Supreme.
