• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Nice photo comparison, thank you! I'm happy with my RI that's for sure. Can you take another and focus on the bridge?

Upon a closer look, it appears the upper horn on the original has more flat area before it transitions into the pointed shape as compared to the RI. Clearly they didn't get it quite right back then in '62 :)

The guy you need to thank for this is Dan from Mojoaxe - those are his guitars, and pics, which the OP should have pointed out IMO.

I received these pics from Dan a few years ago - those are actually his '61 SG LP, not a '62, and the historic is a 2007. Chances are though that Dan has made some tweaks to the historic, since he does do this to many of his historics in order to make them look more authentic - such as changing inlays, pickups/covers, guards etc.
