• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Beautiful guitar, but the amps and their sound is crap. Many guys on this forum and a few times myself have done a way better job demonstrating tone and sound of both guitar and amp.

I have to agree. On the actual listing of the guitar on their webpage is a better sounding demo. ...but actual pics of the guitar are quirky photoshopped playful pics...wtf.

I find Carter's demos extremely well presented...gives folks more inspiration to crack open the wallet, cash in the crown jewels, remortgage...

I dont' like the metal buttons on the jacket with the guitar. And.....I didn't groove on the sonics, either.

The guitar is way better than I'll ever have and the sounds are way better than I'll ever get. Thank you!

One would have to try REALLY hard to make a 60 LP and a blackface Super Reverb sound so bad... WTF

The second amp wasn't so bad.

It's a nice guitar. I played it when Eliot had it in his store in Carmel for a lot cheaper. I saw the repair. It was was done and the guitar has a nice top but...to me, it is an "issues" guitar (battery rout under pick guard being a major "issue".) In my opinion, it is a guitar with a "story" and will always be difficult to sell, especially at that premium price close over $250,000. There are bursts out there for sale right now for less money. I did play it; nice sounding and playing axe. What a shame.

I once owned the "Johnny B" burst...1960 0 8145

http://www.burstserial.com/index.php?/category/1405

Guitar is 100% and I used to call that one "Scar" too, for obvious reasons....I traded it to my good friend who will never part with it.

We have the discussion every once in a while....keep it "as is" or "restore" the finish (there are pros out there who do unbeliveable work as we know.

I think If I owned the "Johny B." burst again, I would get the finish restored, but my buddy who I sold it to is adamant about keeping it as is.

One thing great about guitars with a "story." One can usually get into one at a reasonable price, as I did with the Johnny B. and with my current burst (0 7442- changed tuners.)
The nguitar at CME is a great guitrar, but at $285,000, it is my opinion that the guitar is grossly overpriced due to the battery rout under the guard.

To be fair, I think that's a "let's generate some discussion" price, not a realistic "I expect to sell this guitar this week (or even this year)" price. I'm not actually sure that Andy wants to sell it, unless he gets stupid money for it. I've seen and played it and thought it was a great playing, good sounding and pretty burst, as long as you didn't look under her skirt!
