Very good lookin! What model? New? Used? Old?

New. Like straight outta Nazareth off the production line in 2025 new. 000-28, just the normal standard modern model with whatever all the new "updates" are, lol!

I love anything that's old time sunburst with an ebony board, saw it posted new that day and I just turned into a consumer bot. I know there's all sorts of variations on the models but I didn't give it any thought, just zeroed in on it. That Martin volute too? I'm just a sucker for that look.

I went and did something controversial....

These seem to be love hate (OK maybe more like hate hate?) but honestly it's such a good, practical guitar. I play acoustic live in a large band and have issues with feedback on stage (even with a soundhole cover). This sounds just as good live and is so comfortable to play. it's also pretty cool to just play around the house because of the contours on the body and the mid-volume sound it puts out acoustically. This is the US version with the extra transducer pickup which makes a difference to the plugged in tone.

Always changung.
Some quick shots, I never even dusted it.
A 1981 Explorer CMT curly maple top. It is rare to see a nice Explorer with beautiful grain and color these days. I couldn't resist.
DiMarzio Super Distortions, Kahler bridge. Neck is a bit chunkier than I am used to but it's still just a guitar.
Heavy bugger too. Really good shape, just a bit of worming on the back and lovely flame maple neck.

The 1955 NAMM show Les Pauls sent me searching for Epiphone Joe B 1955 LPs, just window shopping, wondering if one of those could help me scratch that 1955 NAMM shop LP itch at a fraction of the price.

I stumbled across a deal I could not refuse. It is certainly no Custom Shop Murphy Lab piece, but it is pretty cool and I already have 3 other P-90 Les Pauls. It is a nice guitar, on par or exceeding the quality of my MIK Tokai Goldtop.

And, of course, thinking I was done buying for a little while, at least, this Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Custom Shop 1963 SG/Les Paul Custom came up at an 'offer I could not refuse' price. 🤑 Since these came out I had been watching them and the Gibson 'real thing' equivalents for just such a deal. I even slept on it overnight hoping someone else would buy it. No such luck. Man, this is a great guitar for the $$$ (especially at the price I paid). It might be MIC, but it has a long tenon, an ebony fretboard, and 3 x Gibson Custombuckers with a full CTS/Switchcraft/Mallory wiring harness. The tones are amazing and throaty. I really like this guitar.

The Joe B. LP has the modern Epi headstock and this SG/LP has the full open book headstock. I like both.

Actually, I literally just bought it on Reverb and I'm waiting for FedEx to deliver it. In guessing it says Less Paul/More Paul.

Another Gretsch - this one is a Player's Edition Black Falcon (G6636T). Love the PE features - center block, pinned bridge, B7 bigsby, locking vintage style tuners. Master volume and tone controls. The guitar tunes up and plays great and the pickups are ridic! Tip-top build quality.
