Does anyone have any solutions or ideas on a clock for a pedalboard? I have an extra slot open on my power supply and are trying to come up with things that will be useful.

"WTF?", I thought till I googled this and it seems there are loads of the things out there specifically built for pedalboards.... the ones I can immediately see double as timers (still not convinced they'd qualify as "useful" but other people's M clearly Vs). So, no I can't recommend one, but they do exist and they're pretty cheap... You learn something every day :)

I have this one. Marathon non ticking, easy to read, and low light glow. Two AA batteries. Fits right where it should. Keeps perfect time too.

That's cool :) Doesn't solve the OP's "use up the spare PSU port" thing though ;) But - I have to ask 'cause I just don't get it - why would you want a clock on your pedalboard?

It's a little silly but it helps time out when to end the sets/watch out for the hard stop at midnight without pulling out phones.

The only problem I've seen is that most of the cheap digital clocks off of amazon or ebay clock kits run off of USB Power which I believe is 5 Volts. Any of the guitar pedal versions I've seen are out of production (DS Engineering Chronograph, VVCo Time Box, Zue Engineering On Timer). I'd like to use a power supply slot I have rather than worry about changing batteries. The little watch battery in those examples would keep the time going and the LED would be powered by the 9volt connection.

Problem with powering up and down like a pedal, is that a clock needs to run all the time. Otherwise, you have to reset it. Two AAs and it runs for a year. You can get AA's pretty much anywhere. Set it and forget it. That Marathon clock I have is twenty bucks. A bonus is if you need an alarm clock, pull it off the board and set it next to you. Works for me.

Cool, thanks. At least I understand now. Our (UK) bars/pubs etc usually have clocks and can be a little flexible on time anyway, bigger venues would be an issue on deadlines but the guitar player having a clock on their pedalboard wouldn't help a huge amount in that sort of situation I guess but since people seem to think having one is both normal and useful I'm just going to have accept that I've learned something and go out and buy one...

One of my house gigs, a solo set, likes me to break on the hour, and I don't like wearing watches when I play guitar, so I can see the use for a little clock. Also when I'm figuring out sets for my original band, I like to watch the time when we rehearse our sets to see how long they run!
