• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I'm not sure if I ever posted this one to my "Lefty Archives" series, but here's a little seen lefty from 1957. It's one of two known lefties from that year with P-90s. There are four known from "57 with PAFs. Gibson refinished this one at the owner's request back in the early 1970s. If I were fortunate enough to come to own it, it would go to Historic Makeovers for a new goldtop/dark back refin.

Thx for posting.
An interesting guitar for sure, I'm not sure I'd do anything to it, especially if it is verifiable that Gibson did the refin back then.
Funny it has black plastic. Do we know the serial # ? Maybe it's a very early '57?

Thanks, Steve.

First time I recall seeing this one: off-center seam, I'd remember!

Do you think it got the 'Les Paul' TRC during the re-fin?

Anyone know its whereabouts?

I saw this several years ago on a Facebook page, though I don't recall who's . IIRC, the owner had it since his Vietnam days, and a
was in the NYC area. He might even have been the one who had Gibson refinish it.

Is it still a lefty reflecting in a mirror- see I fixed it for you ? Very nice guitar - In my subjective opinion I have always felt lefty Gibson guitars have a little extra attention in construction wood & finish

I think it's Very Rare, but I'd restore back to GT with dark back (not an off center fan). How does it play and sound?
