• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I landed this amazing Ruokangas Mojo King (Candi) a week ago.

For those who haven't heard of Ruokangas guitars, they are handmade by Juha Ruokangas in Finland, with an impeccable level of attention to detail.

This guitar is a custom order with an alder body, maple 12" radius (big thick) neck, stainless steel frets, Haeussel pickups with a 5-way switch, a switch to add/remove the neck pickup to any configuration, coil-splitting for the humbucker and a built-in boost for solo's... by far the most versatile guitar that I've ever owned.

Candi plays like a dream and sounds incredibly good, very alive and well balanced across the tonal spectrum with tons of note bloom in the high register.

Very cool. Versatile, indeed. And you don't see f-holes on body contours everyday, either.

Congrats, and enjoy all that mojo in good health!

Is the neck terrified, or the maple just not as light or yellow as Fender does?

Yes the body and neck has been thermally treated and the neck is natural maple with a clear satin finish, so no stain on the neck.
