• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

While debating on tuners or setup of my old Strat, I stumbled on this one. Bought from a guy who got this one on some type type of insurance claim. He got it and never played it. A 2018 guitar that still had the plastic on the guards.

My first impressions after the impulse buy were that I was going to immediately put it on CL and flip it. I spent the next morning doing a complete setup. Neck needed adjusting, floating term was close to locked down, and the saddles and string height were sky high! After the intonation was set, back to my music room. I can honestly say that I am very impressed. The guitar plays extremely well. The roller nut and the trem work really well together. The noiseless pickups are fine for now, maybe lack a bit of a snap that I prefer. Guitar weighs slightly more that I would like, but oh well. The tuners are nice and make changing strings a breeze. The tweed case is a very inexpensive add and I would have liked a TSA case instead.

I ended up giving the guy 1K for the guitar and for the money, it was a real score. I have a gig on Saturday and will be interested to see how it performs outside in the heat? Anyone else play these? All in all, a great NGD! MHO

Pretty sweet. Those Strats were originally designed around Jeff's "Oxblood" Les Paul in regards to the neck profile and "Dually LACE Sensor" pickup used at the time.
Nothing beats an actual R4-JB "Oxblood" though. I'd move it on and put the money towards a Les Paul.

I’ve got the Burst thing covered as well as a nice 335. For my band now, I tend to grab the Strat and then finish most gigs with my Skinnerburst. Just how the show lays out. I like Beck’s stuff, but not covering any of his tunes. This guitar is a good summer addition. I’ll just see how long the honeymoon lasts!

I’ve never played one of the new ones but still would like one of the old ones with the 54 LP neck carve and Lace Sensors. Yours looks beautiful. The Noiseless actually sound good. I have a CS Strat with them and I like them fine.

I love those. I’d probably keep the pickups stock. You might find that you’ll like them better every time you play that beautiful guitar.
